An OMU Tradition, YÖS 2023, Was Held Successfully

The 2023 International Student Examination, hosted by Ondokuz Mayıs University, was held with great dedication and success. The examination was held at 56 different examination centres in various parts of Türkiye and the world, in 5 different languages, on 21 May 2023 at 13.00 Türkiye time.

A First in Türkiye: A Shared Preference System

OMU carried out meticulous work to make participation and the preference process easier for international students and to ensure the examination was held successfully. Participants from different countries sat the examination in their own languages and came together in a global examination atmosphere. With the 2023 International Student Examination, held to encourage international students to take part and to offer them a global educational setting, and now an OMU tradition, a first was achieved in Türkiye: 19 different universities gathered around a shared preference system. Candidates who sat OMU-YÖS will thus be able to choose easily from the undergraduate and associate degree programmes of 19 different universities using the shared preference system "yostercih.omu.edu.tr/".

Digital Examination Security at the Highest Level "muhtar.omu.sh"

An application to increase examination security was put in place for OMU-YÖS 2023. Thanks to this application, "muhtar.omu.sh", the biometric information on the examination entry documents of every student taking the examination was compared and verified by staff before the examination. Examination security was thereby raised to the highest level. Thanks to muhtar.omu.sh, developed by the UZEM software team, the reliability of OMU YÖS was raised a further notch.
