Seminar on Applied Behaviour Analysis in Early Childhood Education

The first event in the webinar series titled "Current Issues in Special Education", organised by the Ondokuz Mayıs University Developmental Education Application and Research Centre (OGEM), was held online on 21 January 2025 with the support of the Ondokuz Mayıs University Distance Education Centre (UZEM) infrastructure.

The guest at the seminar was Prof. Bülbin Sucuoğlu, a retired academic of the Division of Pre-school Education in the Department of Primary Education at Hacettepe University. Giving participants her presentation titled "Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) in Early Childhood Education", Prof. Sucuoğlu conveyed wide-ranging knowledge about the basic principles of applied behaviour analysis, its role in early intervention processes and its effects on the education of children with special needs.

At the seminar, which drew keen interest from participants, the importance of science-based approaches in supporting the development of pre-school children in particular is stressed, and assessments were made through examples of ABA in practice in the field.
